What’s been happening lately?

No, I haven't been on vacation.  However, that would be nice. Let's see. First, the St. Augustine Schola Cantorae sang a wonderful Vespers for the Feast of St. Joseph the Worker.  That took us outside of our accustomed Marian chant repertoire.  More work, but the hymn "Te Joseph celebrent" is a real pleasure to sing and I recommend it to any schola/choir...Read More

Tracks from the Naxos Guitar Collect...

I love a download deal – and my newsletter from Naxos (one of my favorite labels) brought me a new one.  50 Tracks of Classical Guitar Music for $0.99 over at Amazon mp3 downloads.  My personal feeling is that you can't have enough classical guitar music on hand – soothing if you can't sleep, excellent background for dinner parties and reading 19th century...Read More

Whazz Up?

I've been quiet lately for a couple of reasons.  The first is another writing project that sucked up most of my available words.  The second is a mildly sprained wrist.  Fortunately, with regard to the latter, I can play both the harp and organ with a light splint.  The dear Sister of St. Joseph who lives across the street said that God wanted me to slow down for a...Read More

Welsh Song Wednesday

Sorry to have been so remiss in posting.  Just the post-Easter eat-a-thon and cleaning up everything that I let slide, combined with the outbreak of the wedding season.  So here's a lovely Welsh tune for this Wednesday.  And some nice views of ridges and valleys. Take a break and enjoy: Share and...Read More
